Other Community Resources

This is a page where Duke Mutual Aid will be compiling Durham/Duke community resources that we find. Please use and share these resources!

The resources on this page directly are continuously updated and provide emergency relief. The resources under "Partnered and Local Organizational Resources" are established funds and organizations that mainly provide services longer-term, even in emergency situations.

If you have other resources you would like to share with us, please fill out this form. We'll add those resources here too.

Durham Emergency Rental Assistance Program: Proxy Applications

DCO_Proxy Application Reference Guide

Durham Neighbors Collective

Grown out of the Durham Free Lunch program - which has been providing 1000 meals per week to neighbors struggling with food insecurity - Durham Neighbors aims to connect those in need with those currently able and willing to provide assistance via monetary donations, professional networking and human connection. Application for assistance is here.

Immigrant Families Fund

Financial support to immigrant families who have been left out of the federal government’s relief efforts. Immigrants may be eligible to receive a $500 grant to help cover whatever is most pressing in their lives. More information and eligibility requirements here.

Child Tax Credit Payments

Starting July 15, the IRS will provide Child Tax Credit payments to families with children. Families will receive $300 for each child under the age of 6, and $250 for each child age 6-17. Payments will be made on the 15th of each month through the end of 2021. Congress will consider extending assistance beyond 2021.

Families who have filed their 2020 tax return will receive payments automatically. A process will be established for families to provide updated information (e.g. change of mailing address) and for non-filers to access the payments.
